About This Device
Not every site needs a mast. Where sub-6 5G reaches indoors - upper floors, window-adjacent IT rooms, suburban branches near towers - the 170900-017 delivers captive 5G without outdoor construction: an indoor W1850-5GC wideband adapter with a 3.4 Gbps-class modem, deployed as a Captive Modem accessory for the Americas. The controlling router adopts the W1850 as a WAN interface and NetCloud manages the pair as a single device, so the upgrade is a shelf placement, a cable, and a configuration change. High-wall and window-bay mounting with PoE power keeps even the 'indoor' unit at the best available signal.
Indoor captive modems trade a few dB for a much simpler project - and PoE placement at a high window bay recovers most of the difference at good-coverage sites.
Place or wall-mount the W1850 at the surveyed indoor signal point, power by PoE injector or DC supply, connect to the controlling router, and enable Captive Modem mode in NetCloud. Confirm band and throughput before replicating across sites.
Cloud Care Networks stocks the Cradlepoint 170900-017 alongside the gateways and routers it supports, so IT and field-service teams can consolidate antennas, spares, and replacement hardware on a single order.
