About This Device
The Panorama C23F-5SMAJ is a 5 m (16.4 ft) CS23 coaxial cable assembly terminated with an FME female connector on one end and an SMA female on the other. CS23 is Panorama's double-shielded 5 mm coaxial cable and a low-loss alternative to standard RG58/AU. The double screen keeps ignition noise and adjacent-cable interference out of the antenna feed, while the flexible jacket takes the tight bends of dashboards, equipment cabinets, and cable trays without kinking. The FME female end matches the standard comms and antenna ports used across Panorama's antenna range, so the assembly drops straight onto FME-terminated antenna leads and diplexers. The SMA female (jack) end accepts any standard SMA male antenna or jumper, which makes this assembly a straight in-line extension for an existing antenna run. As with any coax, plan the shortest run that reaches: extra length adds loss you cannot get back. Route the cable away from high-current wiring where practical, avoid tight kinks at the connector boots, and leave a small service loop at the equipment end. Panorama Antennas has designed and manufactured antenna systems and RF cable assemblies since 1947, and every CS23 assembly ships with its connectors fitted and tested before it leaves the factory - eliminating the most common failure point in field-built coax.
