The Panorama ER-353FEME solves the fitment problem for the Ford Explorer specifically: it is a mounting gasket contoured to the Explorer roof line, sized for Panorama's long dome housing format.
During installation the gasket sits between the dome base and the roof skin. Because it matches the panel's crown, clamping pressure spreads evenly around the full perimeter instead of concentrating at high spots, and the joint seals around the cable penetration. That protects the headliner, wiring, and electronics below from water intrusion and keeps the dome bedded firmly against road vibration — the two failure modes that generate warranty claims on dome installs done with generic flat gaskets.
