About This Device

The Cradlepoint MA-MC400-1200M-B upgrades in-vehicle and mobile deployments to Gigabit-Class LTE using the MC400 modular modem platform. Rated for LTE Advanced Pro speeds up to 1200 Mbps, the module slots into supported Cradlepoint mobile routers and ships with the door hardware needed for the IBR1700 router and the COR Extensibility Dock, so the finished installation stays sealed and road-ready. Fleets typically deploy this module in one of two ways. As an upgrade, it moves an existing router to a faster LTE category, improving throughput for onboard cameras, passenger Wi-Fi, and dispatch applications. As a second modem, it enables dual-carrier operation: the router keeps SIMs from two networks active and fails between them automatically, which is the standard design for ambulances, transit buses, and police vehicles that cannot tolerate coverage gaps from a single carrier. Because the modem is a managed accessory of the host router, configuration and monitoring happen in NetCloud alongside the rest of the fleet, and there is no separate device to inventory beyond the module itself. The MC400 approach also protects the investment: when cellular technology advances again, the module swaps out while the router, wiring, and antennas stay in place. SIMs and data plans are sold separately.
