About This Device
The Cradlepoint MC20-ETH expands the wired capacity of S400 and S450 IoT routers with two additional 10/100Base-TX Fast Ethernet ports on standard RJ45 connectors. The module installs in the MC20 expansion slot, becoming part of the router rather than another boxed device competing for space, power, and mounting in a compact enclosure.
In IoT and edge deployments, port count is often the deciding constraint. A kiosk may need the display controller, the payment terminal, and a printer wired at once; an industrial cabinet may house a PLC and a local HMI panel. Rather than stepping up to larger hardware or squeezing an unmanaged switch into the cabinet, the MC20-ETH resolves the shortage inside the router's own footprint. Traffic from the added ports rides the router's cellular WAN and security policies exactly like the built-in port, and management stays unified in NetCloud.
The module weighs only a few ounces (about 0.15 lb shipping weight) and is one of three MC20 expansion options for the S-series platform, alongside the MC20-SRL RS-232 serial module and the MC20-GPO GPIO module. Because the slot is field-accessible, modules can be added or exchanged as site requirements change—a kiosk retrofit can gain wired ports without swapping the router or revisiting carrier activation. Choose the MC20-ETH when your S400 or S450 site simply needs more Ethernet.
