About This Device
This Cradlepoint package (BEA1-1855-5GC-GN, Americas) combines the W1855 Series outdoor 5G Wideband Adapter with a 1-year NetCloud Complete plan covering both the Essentials and Advanced management tiers.
The pairing of outdoor hardware with the top management tier is deliberate. An outdoor-mounted adapter is the hardest device on the network to physically visit - it lives on a wall, mast, or rooftop precisely because that is where the signal is. The Advanced tier's deeper cellular analytics, extended WAN visibility, and enhanced remote troubleshooting mean that when an outdoor unit misbehaves, the answer comes from the NetCloud console rather than a ladder. Essentials covers the operational baseline: zero-touch provisioning, centralized configuration and firmware management, monitoring, and alerting, with Cradlepoint support and warranty for the term.
The W1855 itself is the outdoor answer to building-penetration loss. Metal cladding, low-E glass, and deep interiors crush mid-band 5G; mounting the weatherized W1855 outside routinely converts marginal indoor signal into strong, stable service. The 5GC modem provides 5G NR with automatic 4G LTE fallback, the connection feeds indoors over Ethernet to the site's existing firewall or SD-WAN appliance, and a 4FF SIM activates the carrier with the best local coverage.
The 1-year term suits pilots proving both outdoor placement and the Advanced tier's value at representative sites. Committed fleets step up to the 3-year (BEA3) and 5-year (BEA5) Complete bundles for production economics, while Essentials-only BE-prefix versions trim cost where basic monitoring suffices.
