About This Device

Most branch architectures bolt cellular on as an afterthought — a separate modem, a separate management plane, and a failover path that gets tested the day it is needed. The Balance 310 5G is Peplink's answer: an SD-WAN router for demanding branch sites with a global 5G module embedded directly in the chassis, US certified, with Cat-20 LTE fallback when 5G service is not available. Because cellular is native to the router, it participates fully in Peplink's SpeedFusion engine. Wireline WANs and 5G can be combined for bandwidth, wrapped in bonded VPN tunnels for session-preserving failover, or arranged in priority tiers where cellular carries traffic only when circuits fail — all governed by per-application policy rather than crude link switching. For sites running voice, video, and payment traffic, that distinction shows up as calls that continue through a circuit cut rather than dropping. As a Balance-series router, the 310 5G is built to be the site's primary edge: multiple WAN inputs, routing and firewall policy, and capacity appropriate to branch offices with real user counts. The -PRM configuration includes PrimeCare licensing, which carries InControl 2 cloud management for fleet-wide configuration, monitoring, and reporting, plus access to Peplink's software feature set while the subscription is active. Deploy it at branches that need wireline-plus-cellular resilience under one pane of glass, or wireless-first sites where the embedded 5G modem is the primary circuit from day one.
