About This Device
The FortiExtender 201F is part of Fortinet's FortiExtender line, built on the company's security-driven networking approach: connectivity and security are configured together rather than bolted on afterward. This mid-range model carries a dual-SIM LTE Advanced M.2 modem, with automatic failover between two carrier profiles. This is the EMEA/Asia (EA) regional variant.
The five Gigabit Ethernet ports flex between WAN and LAN duty in software, so the same SKU covers failover-only installs and full branch-in-a-box builds. External antennas allow high-signal placement near windows, USB supports local operations, and the desktop/wall-mount chassis (5.9 x 1.5 in) fits back rooms and cabinets.
Management options fit both single sites and thousand-site fleets. A FortiGate can adopt and control the unit through Security Fabric integration, while FortiExtender Cloud provides zero-touch provisioning, monitoring, and firmware management at scale; FortiManager support rounds out the tooling. For EMEA and Asia branch estates, the 201F pairs naturally with FortiGate SD-WAN as the cellular underlay.
