About This Device
Cradlepoint's vehicle routers are built to be hard-wired, and the 170864-000 is the harness the R1900 and R920 install guides assume: a 2x2 Molex connector seated in the router's combined power/GPIO header, running 3 m (9.84 ft) of black 20 AWG conductors to bare-wire ends for fuse blocks and terminal strips. The GPIO conductors carry ignition sensing so the router follows the vehicle's power state, plus digital I/O for door triggers and ancillary equipment. One jacketed run replaces the spliced-together power leads that fail DOT inspections and intermittently reboot routers at speed.
Routers that brown out at engine crank corrupt logs and drop WAN sessions - the factory harness with proper gauge and ignition sensing is the cure.
Seat the Molex in the router header, route the run to the power panel clear of heat and pinch points, and land power, ground, and GPIO per the Cradlepoint wiring guide. Fuse per the manual before first power-up.
Cloud Care Networks stocks the Cradlepoint 170864-000 alongside the gateways and routers it supports, so IT and field-service teams can consolidate antennas, spares, and replacement hardware on a single order.
