About This Device

The expensive part of upgrading a rail router is rarely the router - it is touching the cabling that was certified and dressed into the vehicle years ago. Digi's 76002109 exists so you do not have to. It adapts the M12 D-code Ethernet cabling used with the WR44 RR to the M12 X-code Ethernet ports on the TX64 5G Rail, one green adapter cable per Ethernet run. Both ends are locking M12 connectors, the rail-standard format whose threaded coupling shrugs off the vibration that destroys RJ45 latches in vehicles. The D-code female end accepts the existing 4-pin D-code male harness lead; the X-code male end plugs into the TX64 Rail's 8-pin Ethernet socket. Keyed codings mean neither end can be forced onto the wrong port type. One engineering note worth knowing up front: D-code carries Fast Ethernet on four conductors, so a link adapted through this cable runs at 10/100 Mbps - exactly what the legacy WR44 RR cabling delivered. For most onboard systems that is ample, and it preserves the option of pulling X-code cabling later for gigabit without blocking today's migration. Cloud Care Networks stocks the 76002109 alongside TX64 Rail routers and their power and antenna accessories, so fleet upgrades can be kitted on a single order with a spare adapter for the maintenance shelf.
