Wilson Electronics 955812 10 ft RG58 Low-Loss Foam Coax Cable (N-Male to SMA-Male)

The 955812 is a factory-built RG58 assembly from Wilson Electronics. Wilson describes it as 10 feet of 50-Ohm, low-loss foam, black RG58 coax, N-Male to SMA-Male. The cable is 3/16 in in diameter and can be used both indoors and outdoors for connections between cellular antennas and amplifiers. Wilson notes that RG58 is mainly used for consumer applications.

The mixed-connector design is the reason to choose this cable. The N-Male end fits the N-Female ports found on many antennas and amplifiers, while the SMA-Male end fits the smaller SMA-Female ports on compact equipment. One cable bridges the two without a separate adapter, which removes an extra connection point from the signal path.

The thin 3/16 in RG58 jacket bends and routes more easily than 400-series cable, which suits short runs through tight spaces, around furniture or into enclosures. For long runs where loss is the priority, Wilson's thicker Wilson-400 ultra low-loss cable is the better fit. A 20 ft version of this assembly (955822) is also available.
