Overview

The Panorama C32SJ-5FAKDJ-5GA is a 5 m (16.4 ft) coaxial cable assembly with an SMA female connector on one end and a FAKRA code D jack (FAKDJ) on the other. It is built from Panorama's CS32 cable: ultra low loss, double-shielded, solid-core 5 mm coax rated to 6 GHz. The flame retardant, zero halogen jacket is certified to ECE R118.03. It is the 5GA variant in a four-part series.

  • 5 m (16.4 ft) CS32 coaxial cable assembly
  • SMA female to FAKRA code D jack (FAKDJ) termination
  • Ultra low loss, double-shielded solid-core 5 mm cable rated to 6 GHz
  • Typical attenuation of 4 dB per 10 m at 1 GHz; 50 Ω ± 2 Ω at 1 GHz
  • Flame retardant, zero halogen, UV stabilised Megalon S540 jacket
  • Certified to ECE R118.03; compliant with EN 6722 and EN 45545-2 HL3
  • 5GA variant of the C32SJ-5FAKDJ series
  • Bridges SMA hardware to a FAKRA code D interface in a single low-loss run

The Panorama C32SJ-5FAKDJ-5GA is a 5-metre (16.4 ft) coaxial cable assembly. One end has an SMA female connector and the other has a FAKRA code D jack, coded FAKDJ in the part number. It is the 5GA variant in a series that also includes 5GB, 5GC and 5GD assemblies with the same cable and termination. The assembly suits installations that pair SMA equipment or antenna leads with the automotive-style FAKRA interface.

The assembly is built from Panorama's CS32 cable, an ultra low loss, double-shielded, solid-core 5 mm coax rated for applications up to 6 GHz. A solid copper inner conductor sits in a foam polyethene dielectric. It is shielded by aluminium foil and a tin plated copper braid with no less than 90% coverage. Panorama quotes the following typical attenuation per 10 m:

- 2.5 dB at 400 MHz - 4 dB at 1 GHz - 5.8 dB at 2 GHz - 11 dB at 6 GHz

Shielding effectiveness is better than -95 dB at 400 MHz, measured to IEC 61196-1. Impedance is 50 Ω ± 2 Ω at 1 GHz.

The grey (RAL 7047) jacket is flexible Megalon S540. It is UV stabilised, flame retardant and zero halogen. It is certified to ECE R118.03 and complies with EN 6722 and EN 45545-2 HL3, which makes it appropriate for buses, trains, emergency vehicles and fleet installs. The cable is rated from -30 °C to +80 °C. Minimum bend radius is 25 mm for a one-time install or 50 mm for repeated flexing, so it routes through tight vehicle and cabinet paths. Panorama publishes a CS32 cable datasheet with the full electrical and construction data.

Ideal for

  • Vehicle and fleet installations pairing SMA equipment with FAKRA code D connections
  • Bus, rail and emergency-vehicle builds that need flame retardant, halogen-free cabling
  • Multi-cable antenna installs using the matched 5GA to 5GD series
  • Roof-to-cab or cabinet-to-antenna feed runs up to 5 m

Questions buyers ask

What connectors does the C32SJ-5FAKDJ-5GA use?

One end has an SMA female connector and the other has a FAKRA code D jack (FAKDJ).

How does it differ from the 5GB, 5GC and 5GD versions?

All four share the same 5 m CS32 cable and SMA female to FAKDJ termination. The final suffix identifies the variant, so order the suffix listed in your installation's parts list.

How much signal loss should I expect over 5 m?

Panorama rates CS32 at a typical 4 dB per 10 m at 1 GHz, 5.8 dB per 10 m at 2 GHz and 11 dB per 10 m at 6 GHz. A 5 m run is roughly half those figures, before connector losses.

Is it approved for vehicle and rail use?

The FRZH jacket is certified to ECE R118.03 and complies with EN 6722 and EN 45545-2 HL3.
