Overview

The Panorama C32SJ-5FAKDJ-5GD is a 5 m (16.4 ft) coaxial cable assembly with an SMA female connector and a FAKRA code D jack (FAKDJ). It is built from Panorama's CS32 cable: ultra low loss, double-shielded, solid-core 5 mm coax rated for applications up to 6 GHz. The UV stabilised, flame retardant, zero halogen jacket is certified to ECE R118.03. It is the 5GD variant in a four-part series.

  • 5 m (16.4 ft) CS32 coaxial cable assembly
  • SMA female to FAKRA code D jack (FAKDJ) termination
  • Ultra low loss, double-shielded solid-core 5 mm cable rated to 6 GHz
  • Typical attenuation of 4 dB per 10 m at 1 GHz; 50 Ω ± 2 Ω at 1 GHz
  • Flame retardant, zero halogen, UV stabilised Megalon S540 jacket
  • Certified to ECE R118.03; compliant with EN 6722 and EN 45545-2 HL3
  • 5GD variant of the C32SJ-5FAKDJ series
  • Joins SMA hardware to a FAKRA code D connection in a single low-loss run

The Panorama C32SJ-5FAKDJ-5GD is a 5-metre (16.4 ft) coaxial cable assembly. One end has an SMA female connector and the other has a FAKRA code D jack, coded FAKDJ in the part number. It completes a series with the 5GA, 5GB and 5GC assemblies, which share the same cable and termination. It suits installations where SMA equipment or antenna leads connect to an automotive-style FAKRA interface.

The assembly is made from Panorama CS32, an ultra low loss, double-shielded, solid-core 5 mm coax for applications up to 6 GHz. Two shields, aluminium foil and a tin plated copper braid with no less than 90% coverage, surround a foam polyethene dielectric and a solid copper inner conductor. Panorama quotes the following typical attenuation per 10 m:

- 2.5 dB at 400 MHz - 4 dB at 1 GHz - 5.8 dB at 2 GHz - 11 dB at 6 GHz

Shielding effectiveness is better than -95 dB at 400 MHz, measured to IEC 61196-1. Impedance is 50 Ω ± 2 Ω at 1 GHz and 50 Ω ± 4 Ω at 2 GHz. Braid resistance is under 150 mΩ per 10 m.

The grey (RAL 7047) Megalon S540 jacket is UV stabilised, flame retardant and zero halogen. It is certified to ECE R118.03 and complies with EN 6722 and EN 45545-2 HL3 for vehicle, rail and other safety-critical installs. The cable is rated from -30 °C to +80 °C. Minimum bend radius is 25 mm for a one-time bend and 50 mm for repeated flexing. Panorama publishes a CS32 cable datasheet with the full electrical and construction data.

Ideal for

  • Vehicle and fleet installs linking SMA equipment to FAKRA code D connections
  • Rail, bus and emergency-vehicle builds requiring flame retardant, halogen-free cable
  • Four-cable antenna installs using the matched 5GA to 5GD series
  • Roof-to-cab and cabinet-to-antenna runs up to 5 m

Questions buyers ask

What connectors does the C32SJ-5FAKDJ-5GD use?

One end has an SMA female connector and the other has a FAKRA code D jack (FAKDJ).

How does it differ from the 5GA, 5GB and 5GC versions?

All four share the same 5 m CS32 cable and SMA female to FAKDJ termination. The final suffix identifies the variant, so order the suffix listed in your installation's parts list.

How much signal loss should I expect over 5 m?

Panorama rates CS32 at a typical 4 dB per 10 m at 1 GHz, 5.8 dB per 10 m at 2 GHz and 11 dB per 10 m at 6 GHz. A 5 m run is roughly half those figures, before connector losses.

How tightly can the cable be bent?

Minimum bend radius is 25 mm (1 in) for a one-time installation bend and 50 mm (2 in) for repeated flexing.
