Overview

The Socket Mobile DuraSled DS840 (CX4301-3432) is a 1D/2D barcode sled scanner in Cloud for iPhone 16 and iPhone 15, bundled with a charging dock that charges the reader and phone together. It reads printed and on-screen barcodes, including postal codes, from 1.2 to 19.5 in, and its rubber case protects the phone from drops. It pairs over Bluetooth Classic and is natively supported in Square and Shopify.

The DuraSled DS840 is Socket Mobile's performance sled scanner for iPhone. It combines a 1D/2D barcode imager with a rubber case, so an iPhone 16 or iPhone 15 becomes a durable handheld data-capture device. This SKU, CX4301-3432, is the Cloud version for iPhone 16/15 and includes the Charging Dock, which charges the reader and the phone at the same time. The iPhone is not included.

The DS840 reads printed and on-screen barcodes with omnidirectional scanning. Supported codes include QR, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec and MaxiCode, all common 1D retail symbologies, and postal codes such as USPS Intelligent Mail. Reading distance runs from 1.2 to 19.5 in (3.0 to 49.5 cm), depending on barcode size, symbology and label media. The 1280 x 960 sensor works in light levels from pitch black to direct sunlight.

The rubber casing adds drop protection and is rated for 2,500 tumble cycles at 3.3 ft (1 m). A field-replaceable 700 mAh battery delivers up to 10,000 scans in 11 hours. The DuraSled platform keeps the core components and accessories consistent across iPhone models, so a deployment can move to newer phones without replacing everything.

The scanner pairs over Bluetooth Classic 2.1 + EDR. It is natively supported in Square and Shopify, and it works out of the box with any app built on Socket Mobile's CaptureSDK (version 2.0.29 or higher). The package includes the data reader, wrist strap, charging dock and Get Started Guide. Socket Mobile designs and assembles the DS840 in Fremont, California, and includes a 1-year warranty.

No. The DS840 is sold without an iPhone. This configuration includes the data reader, wrist strap, charging dock and Get Started Guide. The charging cable/adapter is sold separately.

Which iPhone models does this version fit?

CX4301-3432 is the iPhone 16/15 version. Socket Mobile offers separate DS840 SKUs for iPhone 17e/16e.
