Overview

The Socket Mobile DuraSled DS860 (CX4394-3534) is a black professional sled scanner for iPhone 17e and iPhone 16e. It reads 1D and 2D barcodes, passport MRZ lines, OCR-A/B and MICR E13B fonts. Its rubber casing protects the phone from drops. This bundle includes a charging dock that charges the reader and the iPhone together. It connects over Bluetooth, works natively in Square and Shopify, and integrates with custom apps through CaptureSDK.

The DuraSled DS860 for Apple is Socket Mobile's professional sled scanner. It reads barcodes and travel documents on one device. This configuration, CX4394-3534, is the black sled for iPhone 17e and iPhone 16e, supplied with a charging dock. With it, merchants and agents can scan product barcodes and customer passports one-handed. It is built for travel and hospitality, retail point of sale, field service and mobile service teams.

Beyond the full 1D and 2D symbology set, the DS860 reads OCR-A and OCR-B by default, and it also supports MICR E13B, passport MRZ and DotCode. Its 1280 x 960 pixel sensor decodes from 4.1 to 91.7 cm depending on barcode size, symbology and label media. Published figures include 20 mil Code 39 out to 91.7 cm (36.1 in), 100% UPC-A to 63.2 cm and 20 mil QR to 44.5 cm. It reads printed and on-screen codes omnidirectionally, from pitch black to direct sunlight.

The rubber casing is rated for 2,500 tumbles at 1 m onto a metal plate. The field-replaceable 700 mAh lithium-polymer battery delivers 10,000 scans within 11 hours at one scan every 4 seconds, with 25 hours of standby. The included dock charges the sled and the iPhone at the same time.

Connection is Class 2 Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR with a range of up to 10 m, using HID, SPP or the default iOS Application Mode. Square and Shopify support the scanner natively, and CaptureSDK 2.0.29 or higher brings it into native and web apps. DuraSled core components and charging infrastructure stay constant across iPhone models. The DS860 is designed and assembled in Fremont, CA, with a 1-year warranty.
