Overview

The Socket Mobile DuraScan Terminal DT841 (CX4678-3959) turns an iPhone 17e or iPhone 16e into a one-handed 1D/2D barcode scanner. A rubberized, IP54-rated housing protects the phone from drops. The camera, touchscreen and USB-C charging stay fully accessible. An omnidirectional engine reads printed and on-screen barcodes from 0.6 to 20 inches, and a Bluetooth LE link sends the data to apps built with Socket Mobile CaptureSDK. This SKU is the data reader only; no iPhone is included.

The DuraScan Terminal DT841 is a slim, durable scanning terminal for mobile teams that run their workflows on iPhone. It is designed for the iPhone 17e and is also compatible with the iPhone 16e. The phone sits inside a ruggedized, rubberized housing that absorbs impact from drops and daily handling. The native camera, touchscreen and USB-C charging remain fully usable without removing the phone. USB-C passthrough keeps the iPhone powered while it is docked.

The scan engine is omnidirectional and reads 1D and 2D barcodes on printed labels and screens. It reads barcode sizes from 5 mil to 15 mil at distances of 0.6 to 20 inches, and a high-visibility aimer helps with targeting. Advanced decoding handles scratched, damaged, smudged and low-contrast codes, down to 25%-20% print contrast. The 1280 x 960 pixel sensor supports Code 128, UPC-A/E, EAN, GS1 DataBar, QR, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec, MaxiCode and more. LED indicators and multiple audible tones confirm each read.

The DT841 connects over Bluetooth Low Energy, which is separate from Socket Mobile's Bluetooth Classic readers. It runs in Application Mode and requires an app built with Socket Mobile CaptureSDK version 2.0.29 or higher. Apps that already integrate CaptureSDK work with it out of the box. Its rechargeable, field-replaceable battery is rated for a full shift.

The terminal is designed and assembled at Socket Mobile's headquarters in Fremont, California, and ships with a 1-year warranty. Socket Mobile also sells this model with a factory-new 256GB iPhone 17e pre-installed under MPN HC2133-3961. This SKU, CX4678-3959, is the data reader only.
