The Socket Mobile XtremeScan Mag XS662 (CX4838-4148) is a rugged handheld 1D/2D barcode scanner that magnetically attaches to your iPhone 17 through the included Rokform case. It reads printed and on-screen barcodes from 2.1 inches to 14 feet, carries an IP67 rating and MIL-STD-810G drop testing, and connects over Bluetooth LE to apps built with Socket Mobile CaptureSDK 2.0.29 or higher. It is built for warehouse, logistics and field teams running scanning on their own phones.

The Socket Mobile XtremeScan Mag XS662 is the standard handheld version of the XtremeScan Mag 662. It is a mid-range 1D/2D barcode scanner designed for bring-your-own-device deployments. This SKU, CX4838-4148, includes a Rokform case for iPhone 17. With the case fitted, the phone attaches to the scanner's magnetic mount and forms a one-handed scanning unit. The phone detaches just as easily when workers need it for other tasks.

A 1280 x 960 imager with a high-visibility aimer reads barcodes from 5 mil to 160 mil at distances from 2.1 inches to 14 feet. That range covers everything from small labels to pallet and shelf tags. Omnidirectional decoding handles printed and on-screen codes, including scratched, smudged or low-contrast labels with print contrast down to 25%-20%. Default symbologies include Code 128, Code 39, UPC/EAN, GS1 DataBar, QR, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec and MaxiCode, plus OCR-A/B. Postal codes are also supported.

The sealed housing is rated IP67 and tested to a 10 ft (3.1 m) drop per MIL-STD-810G and 2,500 tumbles at 1 m. The scanner operates from 0° to 45° C and in light levels from pitch black to direct sunlight. A field-replaceable 1200 mAh lithium-polymer battery is rated to last a full shift. LEDs and multiple tones confirm reads and show charging status.

The scanner uses Bluetooth LE in Application Mode, with a range of up to 10 m (33 ft). It requires an app that integrates Socket Mobile CaptureSDK version 2.0.29 or higher. Apps that already use CaptureSDK work with it out of the box on Apple iOS, Android and Windows. The box includes the data reader, a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, the Rokform case and an insert. Socket Mobile includes a 1-year warranty and publishes a datasheet and user guide for the model.
