The Plugable PS-EPR-140C1 is a 140W USB-C GaN power adapter for replacing or supplementing a laptop charger. It is aimed at business users who need fast power at hot desks, between meetings and on the road. It supports USB Power Delivery 3.1 with Extended Power Range (EPR). The charger negotiates with each connected device, so a 16-inch MacBook Pro can draw the full 140W while a phone takes only 15W. Macworld named it the best budget one-port wall charger for the 16-inch MacBook Pro.

The adapter provides 5V/3A (15W), 9V/3A (27W), 15V/3A (45W), 20V/5A (100W) and 28V/5A (140W). The 28V profile works only with devices that support PD 3.1 EPR. For current Apple Silicon Macs with 140W charging, use the Apple USB-C to MagSafe cable to reach the full 140W. Their USB-C ports do not support EPR and stop at 100W over USB-C to USB-C. With a MagSafe cable, a 16-inch MacBook Pro charges from 0% to 50% in as little as 26 minutes and to 100% in about 90 minutes. It is also compatible with iPad Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, Surface, Galaxy and XPS devices.

GaN construction makes the adapter 14% smaller than the Apple equivalent, with identical Power Delivery specifications. It is more efficient and stays cooler to the touch.
