Overview

The Cisco ANT-5G-MP-OUT-N= is a compact multipurpose omnidirectional outdoor antenna for Cisco Connected Grid Routers used in IoT devices, smart metering and utility boxes. The monopole covers 617-960 MHz and 1710-5925 MHz with average peak gain of 2 dBi and 5.5 dBi. It has an N-male connector and is IP66 and IP67 rated for operation from -40°C to +85°C.

  • Monopole omnidirectional antenna covering 617-960 MHz and 1710-5925 MHz
  • Average peak gain of 2 dBi (617-960 MHz) and 5.5 dBi (1710-5925 MHz)
  • Average efficiency of 83% and 85% across the two ranges
  • N-male connector, 4-5 ft-lbs installation torque
  • IP66 and IP67 ingress protection, -40°C to +85°C operating
  • DC grounded ESD protection; RoHS-6 compliant
  • The wide 617-5925 MHz span lets one antenna cover the router's low-band and mid-band needs
  • The compact 3.77 x 1.61 in, 63 g body fits on meter housings, utility boxes and small enclosures

The Cisco Multipurpose Omnidirectional Outdoor Antenna (ANT-5G-MP-OUT-N=) is a low-profile monopole built for Cisco Connected Grid Routers. Cisco designed it for IoT devices, smart metering and utility boxes. At 3.77 in tall, 1.61 in in diameter and 63 g, it fits on enclosures and meter housings where a tall stick antenna would be impractical or easy to damage.

One antenna covers two wide frequency ranges: 617-960 MHz and 1710-5925 MHz. In the low range, average peak gain is 2 dBi with 83% average efficiency and 65° vertical half-power beamwidth. In the upper range, average peak gain is 5.5 dBi with 85% average efficiency and 40° vertical beamwidth. VSWR is 3:1 and 2:1 respectively. Polarization is vertical with an omnidirectional pattern, so the antenna needs no aiming. Impedance is 50 ohms and the average power rating is 10 W.

The antenna is sealed to IP66 and IP67 and operates and stores from -40°C to +85°C, so it suits outdoor cabinets in harsh climates. It is DC grounded for ESD protection. It attaches through an N-male connector with a specified installation torque of 4-5 ft-lbs. It is RoHS-6 compliant.

Cisco's installation guide for this antenna covers radiation patterns, system requirements and installation notes.

Ideal for

  • Smart metering installations on Cisco Connected Grid Routers
  • Utility boxes and distribution cabinets needing a low-profile outdoor antenna
  • Outdoor industrial IoT enclosures
  • Harsh-climate sites requiring IP66/IP67 sealing and -40°C to +85°C operation
