Overview

The Fortinet FANT-9IN1-RCT-5M is a rugged 9-in-1 outdoor antenna with eight 5G/4G LTE MIMO elements covering 600 MHz to 6 GHz and one active GNSS antenna with a SAW filter and low-noise amplifier. The rectangular polycarbonate housing is rated IP67 and IK08. It connects through an integrated 5 m braided cable with SMA male connectors, and it works with FG, FGR, FEX and FEV models that have cellular capability.

The FANT-9IN1-RCT-5M is Fortinet's rugged 9-in-1 external antenna for cellular FortiGate (FG), FortiGate Rugged (FGR), FortiExtender (FEX) and FEV models. It fits vehicle roofs or outdoor surfaces. It is aimed at network teams that need high-order MIMO cellular performance and positioning from a single rugged enclosure.

Eight omnidirectional 5G/4G LTE MIMO elements cover 600 MHz to 6 GHz. Tested ranges include 5G NR Band 71 (617-698 MHz), 5G NR Band 1500 (1427-1518 MHz), the 1710-2200 MHz mid-band and 5G NR/4G Bands 22, 42, 48, 77, 78 and 79 (3300-5000 MHz). With the 5 m cable, peak gain reaches 7.46 dB in the 3300-5000 MHz range and 7.96 dB in the 5150-5925 MHz range, and efficiency reaches 51.5% in the 1710-2200 MHz range.

The active GNSS antenna covers GPS L1 and L5, Galileo E1 and E5a, BeiDou B1, B1C and B2a, QZSS, IRNSS and SBAS, and the LNA gain is also specified at 1602 MHz. The front-end SAW filter and LNA provide 28.1-29.7 dB gain with noise figures of 2.3-2.9 dB. The LNA accepts 1.8 V to 5.5 V and draws 5 mA. It is ESD protected to 30 kV air and 20 kV contact discharge.

The polycarbonate housing measures 330 x 75.5 x 45.2 mm and weighs 2.2 kg. It is rated IP67 against water and dust and IK08 against impact, and it operates from -40°C to 85°C. The antenna mounts to a vehicle roof or an outdoor surface through an M27 x 2.0P thread. The 5G/4G runs use 0.15 m TGC-1.5DS spliced to 4.85 m TGC-200, and the GNSS run uses 5 m RGC-174. The antenna is RoHS and REACH compliant.
