Overview

The Taoglas Monsoon GA.170.305111 is a low-profile, IP69K-rated permanent-mount external antenna with a single 5G/4G element covering worldwide bands from 600 to 6000 MHz. Built for containers, vehicles, first responders and M2M telematics, it needs no ground plane. The PC+ABS housing is rugged, and a 3 m low-loss TGC-200 cable ends in a straight SMA male connector.

The Monsoon GA.170 is Taoglas' first-responder-grade external cellular antenna. It is a low-profile screw-mount unit for containers, vehicles and outdoor equipment that need 5G and 4G performance under harsh conditions. One 5G/4G element covers 600–6000 MHz, including Band 71, the 700 MHz LTE bands, GSM 850/900, NR bands 74/75/76, DCS/PCS/UMTS, LTE 2600, 3300–3500 MHz for NR 77/78/79, and 5150–5925 MHz. It is 50 Ω, vertically linear-polarised and rated for 10 W input.

The GA.170 does not require a ground plane, so it can be mounted on metal roofs or non-metal surfaces alike. Taoglas publishes performance for this 3 m cable length. In free space, efficiency ranges from 20.16% to 47.51% and peak gain reaches 4.96 dBi at 3300–3500 MHz. On a 30 × 30 cm ground plane, efficiency reaches 54.92% at 824–960 MHz.

The unit is built for exposure: IP69K rating, PC+ABS casing, nickel-plated steel base and thread tested with 5% NaCl for 96 hours, 100-cycle thermal shock from -40 °C to +85 °C, a 1 m drop onto concrete on 6 axes, and an 8 kgf cable pull rating. It measures 204 × 69 × 31 mm and weighs 550 g. The recommended mounting torque is 24.5 N·m, with a 29.5 N·m maximum.
