Overview

The Taoglas Olympian III MA183.K.001 is a compact 3-in-1 permanent-mount antenna with two 5G/4G MIMO elements covering 600-6000 MHz and a wideband Wi-Fi element for 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 5.925-7.125 GHz (Wi-Fi 6/7). The IP67 ASA housing stands 70 mm tall and 59.45 mm across and screw-mounts through a vehicle roof or enclosure wall. This ordering variant is configured with SMA(M) connectors on the cellular leads and an RP-SMA(M) connector on the Wi-Fi lead.

The Olympian III is Taoglas' low-profile combination antenna for vehicles, cabinets and outdoor assets that need 5G/4G MIMO and Wi-Fi from a single roof or wall penetration. Two cellular elements cover 600-6000 MHz, including worldwide LTE bands, sub-6 GHz 5G FR1 bands such as n71, n77, n78 and n79, and fallback to 3G and 2G where networks still use them. A third, wideband element handles Wi-Fi at 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz and the 5.925-7.125 GHz band used by Wi-Fi 6/7, along with Bluetooth frequencies.

Taoglas designed the cellular elements to suppress cable radiation, so performance holds when the antenna is installed on a metal box as well as on plastic structures. The datasheet publishes efficiency and gain for every band on a 30x30 cm ground plane, in free space and on a metal box, with peak gain up to 6.82 dBi. For metal-box installations Taoglas recommends using cellular element 2 as the primary antenna and element 1 as diversity.

The enclosure is IP67-rated ASA, chosen for vandal resistance, with an integrated rubber O-ring that keeps water from getting under the base. It installs from inside the host enclosure, and the small thread suits locations where space is tight. Operating range is -40°C to +85°C, and the antenna is RoHS and REACH compliant.

MA183.K.001 is a connector and cable ordering variant of the standard MA183.A.001: the two 5G/4G leads terminate in SMA(M) connectors and the tri-band Wi-Fi lead in RP-SMA(M), on 3 m cable runs. Taoglas recommends a minimum of 1 m of cable for stable antenna performance.
