The Taoglas Guardian HP MA995.A.009 combines eight 5G/4G cellular MIMO elements and one active dual-band L1/L5 GNSS element in a single low-profile, IP67-rated housing measuring 148 x 134 x 20.5mm. Built for vehicle telematics, transit and first-responder installs where drilling the roof is not an option, it mounts with the supplied adhesive pad in a headliner or on a back window. This ordering variant ships with 550mm leads: RG-174 with a right-angle SMA male on the GNSS line and TGC-302 cable on the eight cellular lines.

The Guardian HP MA995 is Taoglas's 9-in-1 combination antenna, described by the manufacturer as the smallest 9-in-1 antenna in the world and the first to pair dual-band GNSS with high-performance 5G/4G. It is designed for next-generation 5G modules and routers that need up to eight cellular antenna ports plus precise positioning, in vehicles and IoT enclosures where space is at a premium.

The eight cellular MIMO elements are tuned in pairs. Elements 4 and 5 cover 617 to 5925MHz, including low-band LTE such as B71, B12/B17 and B20. Elements 1 and 8, and 2 and 7, cover 1427 to 5925MHz, while elements 3 and 6 are dedicated to 3300 to 5925MHz for high-band 5G such as n77, n78 and n79, plus C-band and CBRS. Taoglas recommends matching each lead to the bands your router or module needs using the datasheet performance table. The active GNSS element covers GPS L1/L5, BeiDou B1/B2a, GLONASS G1, Galileo E5a, QZSS, IRNSS and SBAS, with an on-board LNA that runs on 1.8 to 5.5V.

The ASA enclosure is IP67 rated and operates from -40°C to +85°C, so it holds up on a rear window or inside a vehicle headliner. It is adhesive and wall mountable and can be installed covertly without penetrating a roof or metal panel. It is CE certified and RoHS and REACH compliant.

Part number MA995.A.009 is a cable and connector variant of the standard MA995.A.001. It uses 550mm leads throughout: RG-174 cable to a right-angle SMA male connector on the GNSS line, and TGC-302 cable on each of the eight 5G/4G MIMO lines. How many cables does the MA995.A.009 have?

Nine: one GNSS lead and eight 5G/4G MIMO leads. All are 550mm long. The GNSS lead is RG-174 with a right-angle SMA male connector, and the cellular leads are TGC-302 cable.

Which cellular leads cover low-band LTE?

Elements 4 and 5 cover 617 to 5925MHz, including low bands such as LTE B71, B12/B17 and B20. Elements 1, 2, 7 and 8 start at 1427MHz. Elements 3 and 6 are tuned for 3300 to 5925MHz high-band 5G.

Does it need to be drilled into a vehicle roof?
