Overview

The Cradlepoint RX30-PoE (MB-RX30-POE) is a compact, ruggedized managed accessory for the Ericsson Cradlepoint R1900 5G ruggedized router. It adds four Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports with 802.3bt Type 3 PoE and a 60 W total power budget, so cameras, access points and other Ethernet devices in vehicles, rail cars and field sites draw data and power from one cable. It is IP64-rated, runs on 9–36 VDC and carries E-Mark, EN 50155 and MIL-STD-810G certifications.

The Ericsson Cradlepoint RX30-PoE Managed Accessory is a PoE switch built specifically for the Cradlepoint R1900 5G ruggedized router. It gives the R1900 four additional Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports, each switchable between LAN and WAN, and each able to deliver 802.3bt Type 3 PoE at up to 60 W per port within a 60 W total power budget. For fleet, public-safety and transit teams, that means an IP camera, a Wi-Fi access point or a rugged terminal can be powered and connected from the router installation without separate power runs.

The housing matches the environments the R1900 is designed for. It is rated IP64 (dust tight and protected against splashing water), operates from -30 °C to 70 °C, and is certified to E-Mark for vehicles, EN 50155 Class S1 and EN 50121-3-2 for rail, and MIL-STD-810G and SAE J1455 for shock, vibration and humidity. Power comes from a 9–36 VDC supply through a 6-pin (2x3) Molex Micro-fit connector, with reverse polarity and transient voltage protection per ISO 7637-2. Vehicle installations require an in-line fuse: 10 A for 9–24 VDC systems and 5 A above 24 VDC.

The unit measures 173 x 152 x 30 mm and weighs 0.84 kg. A 6-pin GPIO connector is provided, and the box includes a 3-meter 18AWG GPIO and power cable, a small accessories kit and a mounting template. Calculated MTBF is 1,231,708 hours (Telcordia SR332 at 25 °C).

Activation and use of the RX30-PoE require an Ericsson Cradlepoint R1900 router licensed to an Ericsson NetCloud service plan. The RX30 data sheet is available for detailed installation planning.
