Overview

The Sonim XP5plus 5G is an unlocked, ultra-rugged 5G phone built for push-to-talk teams, first responders and crews in hazardous or harsh conditions. Top-mounted channel-select and volume knobs give it radio-like operation. A side PTT key and a programmable SOS button sit alongside. It supports AT&T Enhanced PTT for LMR interoperability and is built FirstNet Ready. It carries IP68, IPX9K, MIL-STD-810H and Class I, II and III Div 2 ratings, and runs on a removable 3500mAh battery with fast charging.

The Sonim XP5plus 5G is a rugged communication phone for teams that need instant push-to-talk and LMR interoperability, businesses running long shifts, and first responders on AT&T's FirstNet network. This SKU is the unlocked version with the top-mount channel-select and volume control knobs, which give the phone radio-style handling. A side-mounted PTT key and a top-mounted programmable SOS button complete the controls. It supports AT&T Enhanced PTT and is built FirstNet Ready for prioritized public-safety access.

Durability is the core of the design. The phone is rated IP68 and IPX9K against water and dust and is built to MIL-STD-810H. It is also certified Class I, Div 2, Groups A, B, C, D, T4; Class II, Div 2, Groups F, G, T4; and Class III, Div 2 for hazardous locations. It operates from -20°C to +55°C. The 2.8-inch 640x480 display sits under Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Dual front-facing speakers deliver 100dB+ output, and dual microphones use noise and echo cancellation.

A Qualcomm SM4450 chipset with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage runs Sonim's proprietary OS based on AOSP Android 15. Storage expands with microSD cards up to 512GB. Wide 5G, LTE and UMTS band support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, a hotspot for up to 10 devices and GPS L1 + L5 with Galileo cover connectivity and location. The removable 3500mAh battery is rated for up to 25 hours of VoLTE talk time and up to 390 hours of 5G standby, with 15W/18W fast charging. It accepts a 4FF SIM or eSIM.

SonimWare device management tools come preloaded at no extra cost. Sonim backs the phone with a 3-year warranty. Manufacturer datasheets for AT&T Business and AT&T FirstNet, plus an AT&T user guide, are available for this model.
