Overview

The Zebra HC55 (WCMTA-H55D8BBK1-NA) is Zebra's most advanced healthcare mobile computer. This North America configuration pairs 5G WWAN and Wi-Fi 6E with an integrated SE4720 scanner, 8GB RAM and 128GB flash. It adds a 16MP rear and 5MP front camera, a red duress alert button, and a true hot swap battery with BLE. Zebra DNA Enterprise and GMS are included, in a disinfectant-ready 8.5 oz handheld.

The Zebra HC55 is the 5G WWAN version of Zebra's HC50 healthcare platform. It is built for clinical and non-clinical staff who move between hospital floors, campus buildings, care homes and patients' homes. This North America SKU combines 5G sub-6 (NSA and SA) with private 5G support, tri-band Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. Dual SIM/dual standby runs on one nano SIM plus one eSIM. A Qualcomm 5430 hex-core 2.1 GHz processor runs with 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS flash, with microSD up to 2TB for imaging studies and other data-heavy apps.

The integrated SE4720 1D/2D scan engine uses white illumination and a green LED aimer. It is patient friendly and reads wristbands, medication vials, supplies and UDI barcodes, even when damaged or poorly printed. The 6-inch Full HD+ Gorilla Glass display reaches 450 nits and works with thin gloves. The 16MP rear camera documents wounds and facility rounds, and the 5MP front camera supports telehealth video. A programmable red duress button can dial a set number or launch an app, with an activation sequence that prevents false alarms.

The 3800 mAh (14.63 Wh) battery includes BLE for device location and supports true hot swap. The device stays fully functional for up to 60 seconds during a battery change, so calls and data stay live. Medical-grade plastics support 30+ wipes and disinfectants, and a USB-C port plug reduces crevices. The device carries IP68/IP65 sealing and a 4 ft drop rating per MIL-STD 810H.

Zebra DNA Enterprise comes preloaded and pre-licensed. It adds Zero Touch deployment, LifeGuard security updates, GMS controls and Workstation Connect support. The HC55 is upgradeable to Android 16. Zebra publishes a quick start guide, product reference guide, spec sheet, accessory guide and brochure for the HC2X/HC5X family.
