This North America Standard configuration pairs sub-6 5G and CBRS private LTE with Wi-Fi 6E. It runs on a Qualcomm 6490 octa-core processor with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB UFS flash. The SE55 Advanced Range scan engine reads 1D/2D barcodes in hand or up to 40 ft away. It is built for 10 ft drops to concrete with IP65 and IP68 sealing.

The Zebra TC78 is Zebra's ultra-rugged 5G handheld mobile computer and the successor to the TC77. It is built for couriers, route drivers, field service teams and warehouse staff who need one device for scanning, voice, apps and data. This SKU, TC78A1-3T1K6B1A10-NA, is the Standard-tier North America configuration. It has sub-6 5G with CBRS support, Wi-Fi 6E, a 6.0-inch display, 8 GB RAM, 128 GB flash, the SE55 scan engine and an 8 MP front camera.

The Qualcomm 6490 octa-core processor runs at 2.7 GHz, and a user-accessible microSD slot accepts cards up to 2 TB. The 6.0-inch Full HD+ (1080 x 2160) display is optically bonded and covered in Corning Gorilla Glass. It works when wet and responds to a bare or gloved finger or a conductive stylus. The SE55 Advanced Range engine with IntelliFocus captures barcodes from in hand to as far as 40 ft (12.2 m), depending on symbology type and size. A 16 MP autofocus rear camera with flash handles proof-of-delivery and proof-of-condition photos.

Connectivity covers indoor and outdoor work. On North American networks it supports 5G FR1, 4G, 3G and 2G bands, plus CBRS private LTE/5G in the US. It has a Nano SIM and an eSIM, 2x2 MU-MIMO Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. Dual-band GNSS provides accurate location. For voice work, it has noise-suppressing microphones, dual speakers, HD Voice, VoLTE EVS and a dedicated push-to-talk button.

The TC78 is rated for multiple 10 ft drops to concrete per MIL-STD 810H and 2,000 1 m tumbles. It carries IP65 and IP68 sealing and operates from -4° F to 122° F. The 4680 mAh standard battery fast-charges over USB-C and supports warm swap. It is TAA compliant and ships with a Quick Start Guide and Regulatory Guide.
