Overview

The Klein VALOR Remote Speaker Microphone (VALOR-SO3-WP) is the official Sonim shoulder speaker mic for the XP10, XP5plus, XP5s and XP8. Its SO3 connector screws into Sonim's SecureAudio Connector and draws power from the handset. A built-in amplifier tested to 104 dB output and large glove-friendly push-to-talk buttons keep crews heard on loud job sites. It is third-party lab tested to IP-66 and rated from -40°C to +100°C.

The Klein VALOR Remote Speaker Microphone is a rugged shoulder-worn speaker and PTT microphone for teams on Sonim XP10, XP5plus, XP5s and XP8 handsets. Klein Electronics designed it for Sonim's SecureAudio Connector. The SO3 connector screws into the handset and draws power from it, so the RSM has no separate battery to charge. Sonim sells it as an official accessory, and it is designed and assembled in the USA.

Audio is the reason to choose the VALOR. A built-in amplifier drives a speaker rated at 3 W nominal (5 W max), tested to a maximum output of 104 dB SPL. Transmit audio comes from a Knowles omni-directional microphone with a 55-60+ dB signal-to-noise ratio at 1 kHz. The VALOR has two ways to key up: a large front-facing PTT button and dual thumb PTT buttons. Both work with heavy work gloves.

The body has a rubber overmold with contoured edges for a secure grip. It has locking audio ports on both the top and bottom for optional listen-only earpieces. The optional earpiece moves received audio off the loudspeaker while you keep transmitting through the RSM, which helps when broadcasting audio is not appropriate. Because there are ports at both ends, the handset can be worn on the front or the back.

The VALOR is third-party lab tested to the IP-66 rating standard and specified for operation from -40°C to +100°C. It carries a 3-year comprehensive warranty. A datasheet and a user guide are available for this model.
