Sonim XP Pro Thermal 5G Rugged Android Smartphone with FLIR Lepton 3.5 Thermal Camera

The Sonim XP Pro Thermal adds a FLIR Lepton 3.5 radiometric thermal camera with MSX image enhancement to Sonim's XP Pro 5G rugged smartphone. Field crews can detect failing equipment, find hotspots in power lines and substations, diagnose heat loss and leaks, and locate people in smoke or darkness with the phone they already carry. The phone supports Sonim IRIS, MyFLIR Pro and FLIR Thermal Studio for real-time analysis and thermal reporting. Developers can build on the Sonim HEAT SDK.

The XP Pro Thermal is certified to MIL-STD-810H, IP68 and IPX9K and does not need a case. It survives 2 m (6.5 ft) drops onto concrete and 60 minutes submerged at 2 m. It also resists 4J puncture impacts, up to one metric ton of pressure, high-pressure jets, salt fog and common chemicals such as solvents, bleach and alcohol. It operates from -20°C to +55°C (-4°F to +131°F). The 6.58-inch FHD+ (2408x1080) Gorilla Glass Victus II display works with gloves and wet hands.

A Qualcomm SM7550 octa-core platform (Snapdragon 7 Gen 3) handles 5G (FR1), wide LTE band coverage, Wi-Fi 6/6E (802.11ax, 2x2 MIMO) and Bluetooth 5.3. Storage is 8GB RAM and 256GB, expandable with microSD cards up to 2TB. The 5,000 mAh battery is rated for 27 hours of talk time and supports USB-C fast charging and Qi wireless charging. For communication in loud environments, the phone has programmable PTT, SOS and thermal capture buttons, dual 100dB+ speakers, dual noise-cancelling microphones and the SecureAudio Gen 2 connector.

The XP Pro Thermal ships with Android 14 (Google AER certified) and can be upgraded to Android 16, with security updates through May 2030. The preloaded SonimWare suite handles device management at scale. Sonim covers the device with its SonimCare 3-year warranty, including accidental damage. A user guide and data sheet are available.
