The ATEL PW550 is a high-performance 5G outdoor CPE adapter built to solve the most common failure mode in fixed wireless deployments: good coverage outside the building, unusable signal inside it. Exterior walls, metal roofs, and energy-efficient glass all attenuate cellular signal, and mid-band 5G is especially sensitive to building penetration. By mounting the PW550's radio outdoors with clear exposure toward the serving tower, sites capture materially stronger signal than any indoor gateway can achieve in the same location - which translates directly into higher throughput and a more stable connection.
