Overview

The Opengear ACM7008-2-L-GLB is the 8-port cellular model of the compact ACM7000 Resilience Gateway. It provides 8 RJ45 RS-232 Cisco straight-pinout console ports, 4 USB 2.0 console ports and two 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports. An embedded global Sierra Wireless EM7565 Cat-12 4G LTE modem with 2 SIM slots keeps out-of-band access available when the primary network fails. It is built for branches, retail sites and industrial IT closets with denser equipment stacks.

The Opengear ACM7008-2-L-GLB is a compact console server for remote sites with more gear to manage. It has 8 RJ45 RS-232 console ports using the Cisco straight pinout, at 50 to 230,400 bps, and 4 USB 2.0 console ports. Together they give one small unit direct console access to routers, switches, firewalls, servers and industrial controllers. It is part of the Opengear Network Resilience Platform and is used at retail locations, bank branches and ATMs, and regional offices where business continuity matters.

Two 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports support aggregation, redundancy and automatic network failover. An integrated global 4G LTE card adds an independent path. The card is a Sierra Wireless EM7565 Cat-12 module, rated up to 600 Mbps down and 150 Mbps up, with 2 SIM slots. Opengear lists AT&T and Verizon certification, plus PTCRB and GCF approvals. With Failover to Cellular and Lighthouse management, administrators can still reach site consoles during a WAN outage.

Security features include a FIPS 140-2 validated OpenSSL module, AES encryption, Cisco-compatible IPsec and OpenVPN. AAA options cover TACACS+, RADIUS, Active Directory/OpenLDAP and Kerberos with local fallback. The unit also supports two-factor authentication through remote AAA and has a configurable stateful firewall. Console tools include a web terminal, SSH direct to ports, optional keystroke logging, alerts on cable disconnects and text-pattern matches, inline power control and concurrent sessions.

ZTP, the Lighthouse RESTful API, Auto-Response, SNMP, LLDP and NTP support large rollouts. Digital I/O and high-voltage outputs connect water, smoke and motion sensors or drive relays and alarms. The hardware uses an 800 MHz ARMv7 SoC, 256 MB DDR3 and 4 GB NAND storage. The unit measures 5 1/8 x 4 3/4 x 1 3/8 in and draws less than 11.5 W from its 12V DC external adapter. The box includes antennas, a cellular extension kit and a rack ear, with the datasheet, Quick Start Guide and User Manual available.
