Overview

The Eaton Tripp Lite series B093-008-2E4U-V is an 8-port serial console server with a built-in 4G LTE cellular gateway and two SIM slots. It gives IT teams secure in-band and out-of-band access to routers, switches, firewalls, PBX systems, UPS systems and PDUs. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports provide automatic failover, the embedded encryption module is FIPS 140-2 validated, and the fanless steel housing fits in a 1U rack space or on a desktop.

The Eaton Tripp Lite series B093-008-2E4U-V is an 8-port serial console server with a built-in 4G LTE cellular gateway. It is built for wiring closets, branch offices, kiosks, point-of-sale and other remote sites where network issues must be found and resolved quickly. It provides secure in-band and out-of-band access to routers, network switches, firewalls, PBX systems, UPS systems and PDUs.

The eight console ports use standard Cat5e/6 patch cable to connect to Cisco devices. Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports provide a primary network connection with automatic failover. The 4G LTE modem with two SIM card slots keeps an out-of-band path open when the site network is unavailable. USB 2.0 console ports connect to newer PDUs and UPS systems, including those fitted with WEBCARDLX or other LX Platform cards. Authentication integrates with TACACS+, RADIUS, LDAP and Kerberos, and 4Gb of flash stores logs and files.

Security support includes PCI DSS 3.2, an embedded FIPS 140-2 validated OpenSSL module (Certificate #2473), SSL and SSH, a stateful firewall, and OpenVPN and IPSec VPN. An embedded DHCP server can host a separate management LAN, and each gateway can port forward to an unlimited number of local hosts. PowerMan provides PDU and RPC management, and Network UPS Tools provides UPS monitoring and control.

The fanless, heavy-duty steel housing measures 5.1 x 4.7 x 1.4 in and weighs 1.3 lb. It is rated to operate from -25° to 60°C and draws 11.5 W from the included 12V external supply. Rack-mounting hardware, rubber feet, two antenna blades, a dual-SIM cradle, four international plug adapters, a DB9F to RJ45 crossover adapter and a Quick Start Guide are in the box. The unit carries a 2-year limited warranty.
