Overview

The D-Link DWM-311-B1 is a compact, pre-configured 4G LTE Cat 4 M2M router that brings cellular connectivity to a single Ethernet device such as a kiosk, vending machine, ATM, parking meter or NVR. It downloads at up to 150 Mbps over LTE and has one 10/100/1000 Ethernet LAN port, one Micro SIM slot and two SMA antenna connectors. It supports OpenVPN, SMS reboot and D-ECS cloud management, and it is built in an aluminum and zinc-plated steel enclosure rated from -30 to 60 °C.

The DWM-311-B1 is hardware revision B of D-Link's DWM-311 4G M2M router. It is built for machine-to-machine and IoT deployments where one wired device needs a dependable cellular uplink. Insert a Micro SIM, connect an Ethernet-enabled device and power it up. The router is pre-configured, so the connected device gets driverless access without special software. That makes it practical for mass rollouts as well as one-off installs. If you need custom settings, you can adjust them through the web interface in any browser.

The cellular side is a single-mode Cat 4 LTE modem rated up to 150 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up on LTE FDD, and 130/30 Mbps on LTE TDD. It falls back to DC-HSDPA/HSUPA, WCDMA, EDGE and GPRS. Two SMA connectors accept external LTE antennas, so you can position antennas for better signal. The single Gigabit Ethernet LAN port hands the connection to the local device. The router supports IPv4/v6, DHCP server, NAT, bridge mode and port forwarding.

For remote sites, one OpenVPN tunnel protects traffic back to headquarters. An SMS reboot function lets staff recover a unit without a site visit. The router is also compatible with D-Link Edge Cloud Solution (D-ECS) for centralized monitoring and management; D-ECS licence fees apply.

The enclosure combines aluminum with corrosion-resistant zinc-plated steel. It measures 77.4 x 68.5 x 26 mm and weighs 145 g. It operates from -30 to 60 °C and at 10% to 85% non-condensing humidity. Optional wall mounts allow flexible placement. The DWM-311 carries CE, FCC and PTCRB certification plus AT&T and Verizon certification, and D-Link lists it as TAA/NDAA compliant.
