Overview

The D-Link DWM-311-G is a rugged, compact 5G M2M modem/gateway for IoT and industrial equipment. Its 3GPP Release 16 sub-6 GHz modem supports 5G SA and NSA at up to 3.4 Gbps, with automatic 4G LTE fallback. It has a single 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet LAN port, one Micro SIM slot, four SMA antenna connectors and a 5-32 V DC terminal-block input. OpenVPN, SMS and e-mail event alerts and D-ECS cloud management come built in.

The DWM-311-G brings 5G to space-constrained M2M installations such as EV chargers, digital signage, kiosks, sensors, smart lockers and automation systems. Insert a Micro SIM and apply power, and the gateway connects Ethernet devices to the cellular network with minimal configuration. Because it uses a standard Ethernet interface, attached equipment needs no drivers or extra software. A web UI covers custom deployments.

The cellular module is a 3GPP Release 16, sub-6 GHz 5G design with 4G LTE DL Cat 19/UL Cat 18. Rated peaks are 3.4 Gbps down and 550 Mbps up in 5G NSA, 2.4 Gbps down and 900 Mbps up in 5G SA, and 1.6 Gbps down and 200 Mbps up on LTE. The gateway switches automatically between 4G and 5G as conditions change. A 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet LAN port keeps the wired handoff from becoming the bottleneck. Four SMA (F) connectors support the included cellular antennas.

Networking covers IPv4/v6, NAT, bridge mode, DHCP server, port forwarding and DDNS (DynDNS, No-IP, dynamic DO). An OpenVPN tunnel protects remote traffic, and ping-query reboot restores a dropped connection. SMS and e-mail event management keep staff informed. You can manage units through the web UI or fleet-wide through D-Link D-ECS, which requires an M2M device licence.

The corrosion-resistant zinc-plated steel case measures 77.4 x 82.6 x 26 mm and mounts on DIN rail. It operates from -30 to 70 °C and draws 2.9 W maximum. The wide 5-32 V DC input simplifies power sourcing. Certifications include CE, UKCA, FCC, PTCRB, VCCI, JATE and TELEC, with AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile approvals and EN 18031-1/-2 and EN 303645 cyber-security compliance.
