Overview

The Lantronix E213 (E213F102S) is the global LTE-M model of the E210 Series, a compact industrial-grade cellular router for IoT and enterprise sites. It covers 19 LTE-M bands with 2G fallback and adds dual SIM failover, two 10/100 Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 4, RS-232 serial and two configurable I/Os. The Linux-based software adds VPN, fieldbus protocol conversion, edge processing and cloud management through Lantronix Percepxion or TR-069.

The Lantronix E213F102S is the global LTE-M version of the E210 Series industrial router. It is built for low-bandwidth, always-on connections such as remote monitoring, smart building controllers, payment terminals and industrial automation, where long-term reliability matters more than raw throughput. A single SKU covers LTE-M bands B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B8, B9, B10, B12, B13, B17, B18, B19, B20, B25, B26, B27, B28 and B66, with 2G fallback, so one part number can be used for multi-country rollouts.

The router pairs dual SIM (single standby, two mini-SIM trays) with configurable failover or load balancing across cellular, Ethernet WAN and Wi-Fi. SIM switching can be based on quality of service, and you can script your own switching conditions. Local connections include two 10/100 Ethernet ports (one WAN, reconfigurable as a second LAN), 1T1R Wi-Fi 4 as client or access point, a full RS-232 port on a 9-pin sub-D, and two user-configurable digital I/Os. An optional SC485 Snap Cap converts the serial port to isolated RS-485 for cable runs up to 1.5 km.

On the software side, the E213 runs Lantronix's Linux-based ePack suite. It supports OpenVPN client/server, IPsec (up to 4 channels), WireGuard, L2TP, GRE and PPTP client, plus a zone-based firewall, VLAN and DMZ. Built-in converters translate Modbus RTU/TCP to IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, MQTT, Azure and Cumulocity. You can build custom packages with the G520 SDK in Python or C/C++, and log data to microSD so the router only sends processed results upstream.

The unit has a brushed aluminum housing of 92.5 x 57.2 x 22.5 mm and weighs about 150 g. It accepts 8–32 V DC input and operates from -20 °C to +70 °C. Lantronix publishes a product brief, a quick start guide and user guides for the series.

Which LTE bands does the E213F102S support?

LTE-M on B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B8, B9, B10, B12, B13, B17, B18, B19, B20, B25, B26, B27, B28 and B66, with 2G fallback.

Does the E213 include GPS?

No. In the E210 Series, GPS is available only on the G variants. The E213F102S is not a G variant.

Can I connect RS-485 devices?

Yes. The built-in port is full RS-232 on a 9-pin sub-D. The SC485 Snap Cap, sold separately, converts it to an isolated half- or full-duplex RS-485 port and supports cable runs up to 1.5 km.

What power input does it need?

It accepts 8–32 V DC with slow start. Lantronix offers the P24E2 12 V 1.25 A adapter with a 4-pin connector and US plug, and the MF11 accessory bundle for the E213 with a KDC44 power cord, A31M0 and A21H0 antennas and a BR551 DIN rail clip.

Which VPN protocols are supported?
