InHand Networks ER605 4G LTE Cat 6 Cloud-Managed Edge Router with Dual-Band Wi-Fi (North America)

The InHand Networks ER605-FF39-WLAN is an economical edge router for branch and retail networking. This part number carries an LTE Cat 6 module for North America, covering LTE-FDD bands B2, B4, B5, B7, B12, B13, B25, B26, B29, B30 and B66. It has no 5G modem. The WLAN suffix adds built-in 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, with a maximum rate of 1200 Mbps.

The ER605 can use cellular, wired broadband or Wi-Fi as its uplink. Dual Nano-SIM slots, dual WAN on its five 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports and real-time link detection provide link backup and load balancing. When the active link drops, traffic moves to the backup connection. InHand rates the router at 500 Mbps throughput, 30–50 Mbps IPsec VPN throughput and 50–100 recommended users. It has 256 MB RAM and 128 MB flash.

Management runs through InCloud Manager. It supports zero-touch remote deployment, bulk upgrades, configuration deployment, SD-WAN (spoke) networking, Connector remote maintenance and two-factor authentication. A dashboard shows traffic, cellular signal, interface and client status. Locally, the router supports IPv4/IPv6, VLAN, DHCP snooping, URL filtering, SNMP, and static, OSPF, BGP and RIP routing. VPN options are IPsec, L2TP, VXLAN, GRE and SSL VPN. Security includes a 3L firewall, port forwarding, SNAT/DNAT, black/white lists, domain filtering, portal authentication and 802.1X.

The hardware is a fanless metal enclosure measuring 198 × 137 × 25 mm and weighing 848 g, rated IP30. It mounts on a bracket or wall and runs on 12 V / 2 A with peak draw of 24 W or less. It operates from -10 °C to +50 °C. InHand lists CE, T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T certification, and publishes PTCRB and IC certificates for the ER605-FF39.
