Overview

The InHand Networks ER815-NRQ3-WLAN is a high-performance 5G branch router for stores and business sites that need more capacity. The global 5G module supports SA and NSA. It adds Wi-Fi 6 AX3000, a 2.5GbE WAN port, dual Nano-SIM with optional eSIM, 1 Gbps throughput and 300 Mbps IPsec VPN for 150–200 users. InCloud Manager handles SD-WAN, bulk configuration and out-of-band maintenance of POS terminals, cameras and phones.

The InHand Networks ER815 is an upgraded branch router for sites with higher concurrency and stability requirements, such as busy stores, premium SMB offices and hybrid workplaces. The ER815-NRQ3-WLAN combines InHand's global 5G module with dual-band Wi-Fi 6. The module covers 5G NR bands n1 through n79, including n41, n71, n77 and n78, plus broad LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD and WCDMA coverage. Rated speeds are up to 2.4 Gbps down / 900 Mbps up on 5G SA, 3.4 Gbps down / 550 Mbps up on NSA, and 1.6 Gbps down / 200 Mbps up on LTE.

Wired connectivity starts with a 2.5GbE WAN port. The ports can run as 1 × 2.5G WAN with 4 × GbE LAN, or 1 × 2.5G plus 1 × GbE dual WAN with 3 × GbE LAN. Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) reaches up to 3000 Mbps across 2.4 and 5 GHz at 21 dBm transmit power. It supports multi-SSID, SSID VLAN, guest mode and a custom splash portal. Dual Nano-SIM slots and optional eSIM work with the dual WAN ports and Wi-Fi client uplink for failover and load balancing. InHand rates the router at 1 Gbps throughput, 300 Mbps IPsec VPN and 150–200 users, with 512 MB RAM and 8 GB flash.

InCloud Manager provides zero-touch deployment, bulk upgrades, SD-WAN networking and Connector remote maintenance. The full SD-WAN feature set requires a Branch Professional license. An independent out-of-band channel lets IT monitor and maintain POS terminals, cameras and phones. VPN options include IPsec, L2TP, VXLAN, GRE and OpenVPN, backed by a 3L firewall and 802.1X.

The 210 × 140 × 35 mm, 1.25 kg IP20 chassis mounts on a bracket or wall. It runs on 12 V / 3 A with peak draw of 18 W or less. The standard package includes two Wi-Fi, two 4G and four 5G antennas, an Ethernet cable and a power supply.

Questions buyers ask

Which 5G modes and speeds does the ER815-NRQ3-WLAN support?

It supports 5G SA at up to 2.4 Gbps down / 900 Mbps up and NSA at up to 3.4 Gbps down / 550 Mbps up. LTE fallback reaches up to 1.6 Gbps down / 200 Mbps up.

How do I log in for the first time?

Install the antennas, insert the SIM, connect power, then connect a computer to a LAN port using DHCP or a 192.168.2.x address. Browse to http://192.168.2.1 and sign in with the credentials printed on the device label.

Do I need to set the APN manually?

Usually not. The ER815 auto-detects the carrier and applies the matching APN in most cases. If the cellular link does not come up, set the APN for each SIM under Internet > Cellular.

Is a license needed for SD-WAN?

InHand states that the full SD-WAN feature set in InCloud Manager requires a Branch Professional license.
