Overview

The Lantronix G528GP2FS is the global 5G version of the G528 security gateway in the G520 Series. It pairs 5G Release 15 sub-6 GHz with LTE Cat 20 downlink and Cat 13 uplink plus 3G fallback. It also carries two PSE-PoE+ Ethernet ports, a Microchip ATECC608 secure element, dual SIM, GPS, Wi-Fi 5 and a full set of serial, I/O and CAN bus interfaces. The rugged aluminum housing runs on 10.8-60 V DC.

The Lantronix G528GP2FS is the global variant of the G528, the 5G model in the Security line of the Lantronix G520 Series. Lantronix built it for long-term Industry 4.0, surveillance and remote deployments. It combines 5G sub-6 GHz, a Microchip ATECC608 secure element with Lantronix InfiniShield security, and PSE-PoE+ Ethernet in a compact, rugged gateway.

The radio supports 5G Release 15 sub-6 bands n1, n2, n3, n5, n7, n8, n12, n20, n28, n38, n41, n66, n71, n78 and n79. It also supports LTE Cat 20 downlink and Cat 13 uplink on B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B12, B13, B14, B17, B18, B19, B20, B25, B26, B28, B29, B30, B32, B34, B38, B40, B41, B42, B46, B48, B66 and B71, with 3G fallback. With one worldwide band set, a single SKU can serve sites in several regions. Available G528GP2FS certification documents include PTCRB, Verizon, EU and UKCA declarations.

Two mechanically secured mini-SIM holders provide dual SIM, and Ethernet, cellular and Wi-Fi uplinks can be set for failover or load balancing. The two 10/100 Ethernet ports deliver PSE-PoE+ at up to 30 W per LAN port. The gateway also offers: • 2T2R Wi-Fi 5 (client or access point for about 12 users) and Bluetooth/BLE 5.1 • GPS on a dedicated SMA connector • RS-232 and RS-485 serial, a USB host port, configurable analog, 4-20 mA or digital-output I/Os, ignition sensing and CAN bus

For protocols, it supports Modbus master, DNP3 outstation, IEC 101/104, EtherCAT and DLMS client. Security and VPN options include IPsec (up to 4 channels), OpenVPN, WireGuard, GRE and L2TP, plus a zone-based firewall, VLAN and DMZ. The gateway operates from -30 °C to +70 °C, and Last Gasp provides about 100 seconds of runtime after power loss. You can manage it through Percepxion, TR-069 or the web UI, and extend it with the G520 SDK. Lantronix provides a product brief, user guide and quick start guide.
