The Advantech ICR-3241 is an industrial 4G LTE Cat 4 router from the ICR-3200 family, built for North American networks. It links IP and serial equipment such as SCADA, meters, HMIs, CCTV, kiosks and traffic controllers over cellular. Two SIM slots provide carrier failover. It has two isolated Ethernet ports, RS232, RS485 and digital I/O, all in a metal DIN-rail or wall-mount case rated from -40 to +75 °C. The open Linux-based ICR-OS can host Python, C/C++, Node-RED or Docker applications at the edge.
The Advantech ICR-3241 is a 4G LTE Cat 4 gateway for industrial M2M and IoT deployments where IP and serial devices need a dependable cellular uplink. It covers LTE bands B2, B4, B5, B12, B13, B14, B66 and B71, with HSPA+/UMTS fallback. Rated speeds reach 150 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up. Two Mini SIM (2FF) slots under a cover allow failover between carriers. Carrier approvals cover Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile, and the order code is specified for the North American (NAM) region. In Advantech's order-code table, FirstNet certification is marked for the ICR-3241-1ND, ICR-3241W-1ND and ICR-3241-EL variants rather than this standard ICR-3241.
For wired connections, the router has two RJ45 10/100 Ethernet ports with 1.5 kV isolation. A 10-pin terminal block carries RS232, RS485, one digital input and one digital output. Other hardware includes a battery-backed real-time clock, a hardware watchdog, sleep mode and power-ignition support. It takes 9–36 V DC through a 2-pin terminal block. The IP30 metal case has a grounding screw, and the wall-mount kit and DIN clip are both included. The unit meets E-Mark, EN 50155 railway, EN 45545-2 and MIL-STD-810G requirements.
At the edge, a 1 GHz Cortex-A8 CPU runs with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB of pSLC eMMC, and 1.3 GB of that storage is allocated to customer applications and data. ICR-OS is Linux-based and supports development in Python, BASH, C/C++, Node-RED and Docker through Router Apps. Advantech's Router App library adds Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870-5 and MQTT gateways. Security covers WireGuard, OpenVPN, IPsec, GRE and L2TP VPNs, a firewall, RADIUS/TACACS+ and 2FA. Fleets can be managed at scale through WebAccess/DMP. The Advantech datasheet is available for full specifications.
In Advantech's order-code table, FirstNet certification is marked for the ICR-3241-1ND, ICR-3241W-1ND and ICR-3241-EL. It is not marked for this standard ICR-3241. This router carries carrier approvals for Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile.
No. The standard ICR-3241 order code has no Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or GNSS. The ICR-3241W variant adds 802.11ac Wi-Fi.
It accepts 9–36 V DC through a 2-pin terminal block. Advantech offers optional 12 V/1 A power supplies with US, EU or UK plugs.
The package includes the wall-mount kit, DIN clip, serial/IO connector and power connector. Antennas are optional. Advantech recommends two ANT-LTE5G-025 antennas, one each on the main and diversity SMA ports, for full cellular performance.
Yes. ICR-OS is Linux-based and sets aside 1.3 GB of storage for customer applications and data. It supports BASH and C/C++, plus Python, Node-RED and Docker through Router Apps.
