About This Device
The InHand InGateway IG902 (IG902-H-FS39-IO-W-G) is the step-up platform in InHand's edge gateway line for projects that outgrow entry-level gateways. This -H configuration with the FS39 radio option brings together the full interface set: 4G LTE cellular WAN, Gigabit Ethernet for high-throughput local networking, Wi-Fi for wireless field connectivity, industrial I/O for direct sensor and signal wiring, and GPS for location reporting.
What distinguishes the IG902 is its edge computing capability. The gateway supports containerized applications, letting integrators deploy Docker-packaged workloads — protocol converters, data historians, ML inference, custom collectors — on the same hardened box that terminates the cellular link. Heavy preprocessing happens at the site: raw industrial data gets filtered, normalized, and buffered locally, then forwarded efficiently over cellular. That cuts data costs, survives WAN outages, and keeps latency-sensitive logic next to the equipment it controls.
The industrial design (about 1.1 lb) is built for control cabinets and field enclosures at factories, substations, and remote infrastructure. Remote management keeps distributed fleets updatable without site visits — push new containers, applications, and configurations from a central console.
Choose the IG902 when a site needs more than connectivity: multi-protocol data collection from PLCs and meters, local buffering and alarming, container-based custom logic, and Gigabit-speed local networking, all backhauled over 4G LTE. It is the single-box answer to the router-plus-industrial-PC architectures it replaces.
