Overview

The InHand Networks IR315-FF39-S-G is the most fully equipped FF39 build of the IR315 industrial router. It is the North American LTE Cat 6 model with both RS-232/RS-485 serial ports and GNSS positioning. Five 10/100 Ethernet ports, dual Nano-SIM failover, Modbus RTU-to-TCP bridging and a fanless DIN-rail metal enclosure suit mobile and distributed serial equipment that also needs location and accurate time.

The IR315-FF39-S-G is for deployments that need serial connectivity and location in one unit. Examples include vehicle-mounted controllers, mobile generators, pipeline and rail-side equipment, and distributed utility assets. This part number is the North American (FF39) LTE Cat 6 model, with LTE Band 66 and Band 71 support. It combines the -S serial option (1 × RS-232 + 1 × RS-485) with the -G GNSS option.

The GNSS receiver supports GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS with ±2.5 m accuracy. It can also feed GPS time synchronization to the router's NTP server, so attached devices share a common clock. On the serial side, Modbus RTU to Modbus TCP bridging and DTU TCP/UDP transparent transmission connect field devices to central systems. Five isolated 10/100 Mbps RJ45 ports, each configurable as WAN, LAN or VLAN, cover local IP equipment.

For continuity, the router offers dual Nano-SIM switching on signal, packet-loss or dial-failure thresholds. Cellular and wired WAN can back each other up in hot backup, cold backup or load-balancing mode, and VRRP and an embedded watchdog add further redundancy. Traffic is protected by an SPI firewall, ACLs, 802.1x, DoS protection and signed firmware. VPN options are IPsec (up to 10 tunnels), OpenVPN, WireGuard, ZeroTier, L2TP, GRE, DMVPN and PPTP.

The fanless IP30 metal enclosure measures 127 × 108.2 × 35 mm, weighs 454 g and mounts on DIN rail. It accepts 9-36 VDC with overcurrent and reverse-polarity protection. What does IR315-FF39-S-G include?

FF39 is the North American LTE Cat 6 radio, -S adds 1 × RS-232 + 1 × RS-485 serial ports, and -G adds GNSS. Because serial and I/O are mutually exclusive, this unit does not have the 4 × digital I/O block, and without a -WLAN suffix it has no Wi-Fi.

Which satellite systems are supported?
