Overview

The InHand Networks IR315-FF39-WLAN-G is a North American LTE Cat 6 industrial router with built-in GNSS for asset location and GPS time sync. It combines dual Nano-SIM cellular, five 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports, 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi and four configurable digital I/O channels. Positioning covers GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS with ±2.5 m accuracy. The router is housed in a fanless metal DIN-rail enclosure, runs on 9-36 VDC and is managed through InHand Device Manager.

The IR315-FF39-WLAN-G is the fully equipped North American LTE Cat 6 configuration of InHand Networks' IR315 industrial router, with Wi-Fi, GNSS and four digital I/O channels. It is built for integrators and operations teams whose remote assets need both connectivity and location data. Typical deployments include distributed infrastructure, mobile or relocatable equipment, and sites that depend on accurate time. GNSS supports GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS with ±2.5 m accuracy. The router also offers NTP server with GPS time synchronization and reports GNSS parameters alongside cellular signal data.

The cellular side uses a dual Nano-SIM drawer with SIM switching driven by signal, packet loss or dial-failure thresholds. Cellular/WAN backup runs in hot, cold or load-balancing mode, with VRRP for gateway redundancy. Five 10/100 Mbps RJ45 ports with 1.5 kV isolation can be assigned as WAN, LAN or VLAN. The 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n radio supports up to 300 Mbps in AP, Client or WDS mode, and the four DI/DO channels report status changes on edge triggers.

Security includes SPI firewall, DoS protection, ACLs, 802.1x, IP-MAC binding, content filtering and signed firmware. Supported VPNs are IPsec (up to 10 tunnels), OpenVPN, WireGuard, ZeroTier, DMVPN, GRE, L2TP and PPTP. You can manage the router through InHand Device Manager, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, an HTTP/HTTPS API, SSH, Syslog and SMS alarms.

The IP30 fanless metal housing mounts on DIN rail and measures 127 × 108.2 × 35 mm at 454 g. It accepts 9-36 VDC with reverse-polarity and overcurrent protection and operates from -35 °C to 70 °C in its standard range.

What does the -G suffix add?

How do I configure cellular failover behind a wired WAN?

Go to Network > Link Backup, set WAN as the main link and cellular as the backup, and choose Hot Backup or Cold Backup. Then set an ICMP detection server and click Apply.

How do I log in for the first time?

Connect a computer to a LAN port using DHCP or a 192.168.2.x static IP. Then browse to http://192.168.2.1 and log in with the credentials on the device label.

What environment can it operate in?

The standard operating range is -35 °C to 70 °C, with an extended range of -40 °C to 75 °C, at 5-95% non-condensing humidity. The enclosure is fanless, metal and IP30-rated.
