Digi IX40 5G Edge Computing Industrial Router with LTE Cat 19, SFP and 1-Year Digi 360 (IX40-05)

Digi IX40-05 is a 5G industrial IoT router for manufacturing, utilities, energy, smart cities and traffic management. It processes and integrates asset data at the edge over public and private 5G networks. Cellular support covers 5G NSA and 5G SA (up to 2 SA carrier components), 4G LTE-Advanced Pro Cat 19 with 4x4 operation, and 3G fallback. Band support includes n48 and B48 for CBRS and B14 for FirstNet. The router is approved by PTCRB, AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon and is FirstNet Capable. Two nano-SIM slots with SureLink and VRRP+ keep connections resilient. An optional 2FF Digi eSIM accessory (DG-ESIM-A) adds remote carrier switching and zero-touch activation.

The IX40 is designed to be the hub of a plant-floor network. It provides: - Four auto-sensing Gigabit RJ-45 ports configurable as WAN or LAN - Two 1 Gb SFP sockets for fiber uplinks - A DB-9 RS-232/422/485 serial port - Two digital I/Os and two analog inputs (0–10 V or 4–20 mA, 12-bit) - A GNSS receiver covering GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou and Galileo

A 1.6 GHz quad-core i.MX 8M Plus processor with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB flash hosts containerized applications for predictive maintenance, asset monitoring and machine learning workloads.

The glass-filled polyphenylene sulphide enclosure is IP30 and Class I, Division 2 certified. It operates from −40 °C to 75 °C on 12–30 VDC. Security includes FIPS 140-3 plus license-free VPN, firewall, logging and authentication. The included Digi 360 solution provides Digi Remote Manager for mass configuration and monitoring. Digi WAN Bonding, Digi Containers and DANI are available as value-added services. Accessories are not included; Digi recommends the IX40 5G Industrial Starter Kit (76002147).
