Netgear Nighthawk M6 5G Mobile Router with Wi-Fi 6 for Verizon (MR6220)

The Nighthawk M6 MR6220 is a portable 5G router for mobile business teams, including commuters, first responders and service technicians, who need secure Wi-Fi wherever the work is. This SKU is the Verizon model. It combines 5G NR Sub-6 (2CC, 120 MHz) with C-band support and LTE CAT 19 fallback (LTE Advanced Pro, 4x4 MIMO, 256-QAM). It supports up to 7x carrier aggregation across LTE plus 5G Sub-6 and up to 5x on LTE alone. Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 is rated AX3600 (2.9 Gbps on 5 GHz, 700 Mbps on 2.4 GHz) and connects up to 32 devices.

The M6 also works as an office connection. Remove the battery and plug in the AC adapter to run it in Fixed Wireless Access mode. You can then connect the 1 Gbps Ethernet port to an existing office router or to NETGEAR ProWiFi access points. If fiber, DSL or cable goes down, the M6 switches automatically from Ethernet to the Verizon 5G/4G network. Two TS-9 RF ports accept external 5G/4G/3G antennas for weak-signal sites.

The 2.4-inch color touch screen shows data usage, the Wi-Fi name and password, and signal strength, and it lets you change settings without a computer. The NETGEAR Mobile app gives the same view from a phone. For fleets, NETGEAR's Mobile Device Management platform adds usage and battery reporting, bulk onboarding and centralized profiles. Security features include WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Personal, guest Wi-Fi separation, VPN passthrough, MAC and website filtering, port forwarding and filtering, and SIM PIN/PUK protection. To save battery, Ethernet is disabled by default and Wi-Fi defaults to the 5 GHz band only.

The box includes the router with its battery, a USB Type-C cable, an AC adapter and a quick start guide. NETGEAR provides a data sheet, an installation guide and a user manual.
