Overview

The Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro (MR6520G-111PAS) is the T-Mobile version of NETGEAR's Nighthawk M6 Pro 5G mobile router. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon X65 (SDX65) and supports 5G mmWave (bands 260/261), 5G Sub-6 with C-band and LTE CAT 20. It shares the connection over Wi-Fi 6E AXE3600 (2.4/5/6 GHz) with up to 32 devices across up to 2,000 sq ft. A 2.5Gbps Ethernet port, two TS-9 antenna ports and a 2.8-inch touch screen let it serve as either a pocket hotspot or a fixed wireless office gateway.

The Nighthawk M6 Pro MR6520 is built for business users who want office-grade 5G in a pocketable device, from frequent executive travelers to first responders and service technicians. This SKU is NETGEAR's T-Mobile model. It supports 5G mmWave (8CC, 800 MHz) on bands 260/261, 5G Sub-6 (3CC, 200 MHz) with C-band, and LTE CAT 20 fallback with LTE Advanced Pro, 4x4 MIMO and 256-QAM. Carrier aggregation reaches up to 10x across LTE plus mmWave, 7x across LTE plus Sub-6 and 5x on LTE alone.

Wi-Fi 6E (802.11axe, 2x2 MIMO) operates on 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz with dual-band concurrent operation and is rated AXE3600. It delivers 2900 Mbps on 5 GHz or 6 GHz, and 3600 Mbps aggregate on 2.4+5 GHz or 2.4+6 GHz. The 5+6 GHz combination is not supported. Up to 32 devices can connect across up to 2,000 sq ft.

For a fixed installation, remove the battery and run the M6 Pro on the AC adapter. This enables the 2.5Gbps Ethernet port, which only works with the battery removed, so you can feed an office router, a NETGEAR Pro WiFi access point or a range extender. When wired broadband drops, it switches to the T-Mobile 5G/4G network. Two TS-9 RF ports accept external 5G/4G antennas, and GPS is supported.

The 2.8-inch color touch screen and the NETGEAR Mobile app handle data usage, credentials and settings. NETGEAR's Mobile Device Management platform adds fleet reporting, bulk onboarding and centralized profiles. Security includes WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Personal, guest separation, VPN passthrough, filtering, port controls, SIM PIN/PUK, and Wi-Fi and Ethernet offloading. The box includes the router and battery, a USB Type-C cable, an AC adapter and a quick start guide. NETGEAR publishes a data sheet and installation guide.

The MR6520 data sheet identifies this model as the T-Mobile version, and its failover feature uses the T-Mobile 5G/4G network.

Does the M6 Pro support mmWave 5G?

Yes. It supports 5G mmWave on bands 260/261 (8CC, 800 MHz) in addition to 5G Sub-6 with C-band and LTE CAT 20.

How do I use the 2.5Gbps Ethernet port?

The Ethernet port is disabled by default and can only be enabled with the battery removed. Run the router on the included AC adapter in Fixed Wireless Access mode, then connect it to your office router or access point.
