Lantronix NTC-100 4G LTE Cat M1/NB1 Industrial IoT Serial Modem, Telstra Variant (NTC-100-01-01)

The Lantronix NTC-100-01-01 is a small, low-power cellular modem that gives serial equipment a dependable LTE-M or NB-IoT link. Typical examples include meters, RTUs, controllers and remote monitoring devices. Built on 3GPP Release 13, it covers LTE-FDD bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 and 28, plus LTE-TDD band 39 for Cat M1, with EGPRS fallback on 850/900/1800/1900 MHz. Peak rates are 375 kbps down and 375 kbps up on Cat M1, and 32/70 kbps on NB1. The -01 part carries Telstra carrier approval; the AT&T-approved version is the NTC-100-02. Lantronix lists the NTC-100 series as a last-time-buy product.

Connections are through a single 10-pin locking NANO-fit connector, which carries both DC power and a software-configurable RS-232/RS-422/RS-485 serial port with 15 kV RMS protection. A USB 2.0 Micro-B device port handles local setup and firmware loading, and a single SMA connector takes the antenna. The modem accepts 4.5-36 V DC and draws about 0.24 W idle and 2 W at full load. It measures 84 x 50 x 21 mm, weighs about 55 g and has an IP40 enclosure. You can mount it on a wall through its mounting holes or on a TH35 DIN rail with the included plastic bracket.

The modem operates in PPP or IP mode and supports profile-managed data connections, SIM PIN protection, and automatic or manual band and operator selection. SMS control lets you query signal strength, WAN IP and uptime, change the APN and authentication settings, and issue reboot or reset commands. Sender whitelisting and password protection secure these commands, and the modem replies with acknowledgements. Firmware can be updated over USB, over the air, or through an SMS-triggered FTP download. Approvals include RCM, CE, IC, FCC, GCF and PTCRB, with a one-year warranty.
