The Lantronix NTC-140-02 is a rugged 4G LTE Category 3 M2M router for industrial and vehicle deployments in EMEA, Australia and Singapore. It delivers up to 100 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up, with 3G DC-HSPA+ and 2G EDGE fallback. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports, USB-OTG, a multipurpose I/O pin, integrated standalone GPS and ignition sensing make it a fit for asset tracking, fleet connectivity and remote equipment. This regional variant carries RCM certification and Telstra approval. It is not a North American model.
The Lantronix NTC-140-02 is the EMEA, Australia and Singapore variant of the NTC-140 Series 4G M2M router, which Lantronix lists as a Last Time Buy product. It is built for harsh industrial and vehicle environments. The router has a rugged enclosure, wall and DIN rail mounting, and an 8-40V DC input. It has been tested for vehicular use to IEC Class 5M2, MIL-STD-810 method 516.5 and ISO 7637-2. LTE runs on bands 1, 3, 7, 8 and 20 at Category 3 speeds of up to 100/50 Mbps. The radio falls back to DC-HSPA+ at up to 42 Mbps and to EDGE. This SKU is certified RCM for Australia and New Zealand and approved by Telstra.
For wired connectivity, the router has two 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports with Auto MDIX, a Micro USB 2.0 OTG port for extra interfaces or storage, and a multipurpose I/O pin. You can assign any interface as the WAN, which supports failover designs. The NTC-140-02 is the only model in the series with integrated standalone GPS. It uses a dedicated SMA connector and reaches a hot time to first fix of 1 second. In vehicles, the ignition input handles graceful startup and shutdown, and a configurable sleep mode keeps current draw to a minimum.
The embedded Linux platform runs on a 720 MHz ARM Cortex A8 with 128 MB of DDR2 RAM. On the network side, it supports static and RIP routing, VRRP, Modbus TCP/RTU gateway functions and a Data Stream Manager. For VPN, it offers IPSec (up to 5 tunnels), OpenVPN, GRE and PPTP. You can manage the router through the HTTPS web UI, Telnet CLI, SNMP, TR-069 or secure SMS commands. The SDK supports C, Shell and LUA for custom applications that run on the router itself. Lantronix publishes a product brief, a quick start guide and user guides for this model.
This is the EMEA, Australia and Singapore variant. It supports LTE bands 1, 3, 7, 8 and 20 and carries RCM certification and Telstra approval. Lantronix offers the NTC-140-01 series variants, approved by AT&T and Verizon, for North America.
It is an LTE Category 3 device. It reaches up to 100 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up on a 20 MHz channel, and 50/25 Mbps on 10 MHz. It falls back to DC-HSPA+ at up to 42 Mbps and to EDGE.
Yes. The NTC-140-02 has an embedded GPS receiver with a dedicated SMA connector for a passive or active GPS antenna. Hot time to first fix is 1 second.
It accepts 8-40 V DC through a 4-way Molex Mini-Fit connector that also carries a dedicated ignition input. The DC input is protected to ISO 7637, and 12 V 1.5 A is the recommended supply.
IPSec with up to 5 tunnels, OpenVPN (client, server and P2P), GRE tunnelling and a PPTP client.
