Overview

The Lantronix NTC-225 is the USA Verizon variant of the NTC-220 Series 4G LTE Cat 1 industrial IoT router, covering LTE bands B4 and B13. It pairs a 100Base-T Ethernet port and a software-selectable RS232/RS485/RS422 serial port with configurable I/O, ignition sensing, multi-constellation GNSS and a Linux SDK. Its IP41 enclosure is rated from -40°C to +70°C, suiting vehicles and remote sites on the Verizon network.

The Lantronix NTC-225 (MPN NTC-225-01-01) is the USA Verizon model of the NTC-220 Series, the 4G LTE Category 1 industrial IoT router line formerly known as NetComm Industrial IoT. It operates on LTE bands B4 and B13. Lantronix lists GNSS, Dual SIM and SDK support for this variant and publishes an FCC certificate for the NTC-225. It is built for organisations standardising machine connectivity on Verizon across fleets, utilities and distributed sites.

The interface set targets industrial equipment. It has one 100Base-T Ethernet port and a DB-9 female DCE serial port, selectable in software between 9-wire RS232 and RS485/RS422. The I/O terminal block delivers: • Three multipurpose I/O pins with NAMUR sensor input • 0-30V analogue input and digital input • Open collector output • A dedicated ignition input

The Modbus TCP/IP gateway supports up to 247 slaves, and the Data Stream Manager maps serial, SMS and USB ports. Together they let the NTC-225 move data from legacy devices without extra hardware. A Micro USB 2.0 OTG port adds local storage.

Built-in GNSS covers GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS, and odometer reading is exposed via the web UI, CLI and SDK. The 8-40V DC input carries ISO7637 vehicle protection. IPSec (up to 5 tunnels), OpenVPN, GRE and PPTP secure the link, with VRRP for failover.

Management runs over HTTPS, SSH, SNMP v1/v2/v3, TR-069, LWM2M and SMS, including over-the-air firmware upgrades and multiple stored firmware images.
