The Lantronix NTC-227 is the global variant of the NTC-220 Series 4G LTE Cat 1 industrial IoT router. It supports 18 LTE bands and has an Ethernet port, a software-selectable RS-232/RS-485/RS-422 serial port, USB OTG, three multipurpose I/O pins and ignition sensing. Integrated GNSS supports asset tracking. The unit runs on 8-40V DC and has an IP41 enclosure rated from -40°C to +70°C, which suits vehicles, remote equipment and machine-to-machine deployments.
The Lantronix NTC-227 (part number NTC-227-01-01) is the global model in the NTC-220 Series of 4G LTE Category 1 industrial IoT routers. It covers LTE bands B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B12, B13, B18, B19, B20, B25, B26, B28, B29, B40 and B41, with peak LTE FDD speeds of 10 Mbps down and 5 Mbps up. That band plan lets one SKU serve deployments across many regions. The router is built for telemetry, SCADA and asset-tracking links, where reliable low-bandwidth connectivity matters more than raw throughput.
The interface set is designed for field equipment. It has one 100Base-T Ethernet port and a DB-9 serial port that can be set in software to 9-wire RS-232 or RS-485/RS-422, with software-controlled RS-485 termination. There is also a Micro USB 2.0 OTG port for local storage. The terminal block adds three multipurpose I/O pins, including NAMUR-compatible sensor input, 0-30V analogue input, digital input and open-collector output. A dedicated ignition input, integrated GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou/Galileo/QZSS and odometer reading make the router well suited to vehicles and mobile machinery.
The router runs Linux-based Lantronix OS on a 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 with 256 MB RAM and 512 MB flash. The SDK supports custom applications in ANSI C, shell script and LUA. For Modbus sites, the Modbus TCP/IP gateway handles up to 247 serial slaves, and the Data Stream Manager maps data between the serial, SMS and USB ports. VPN options are IPSec (up to 5 tunnels), OpenVPN, GRE and PPTP client.
For remote fleets, you can manage the router through HTTPS web UI, SSH CLI, SNMP v1/v2/v3, TR-069, LWM2M and SMS commands, with over-the-air firmware upgrades. The enclosure measures 143 x 107 x 34 mm and weighs 221 g. It takes 8-40V DC with ISO7637 vehicle protection and mounts on a wall or on a DIN rail using the included bracket.
The NTC-227 global model supports LTE Cat-1 bands B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B7, B8, B12, B13, B18, B19, B20, B25, B26, B28, B29, B40 and B41.
It has one 100Base-T Ethernet RJ45 port, plus a DB-9 serial port, a Micro USB 2.0 OTG port and a terminal block with three multipurpose I/O pins and an ignition input.
Yes. It accepts 8-40V DC with ISO7637 vehicle-compatible protection, has a dedicated ignition input and reports odometer readings from its integrated GNSS.
Yes. It runs Linux-based Lantronix OS, and the SDK supports custom applications in ANSI C, shell script and LUA, installed through a package manager in the web UI.
Yes. It provides a Modbus server TCP/IP gateway and client TCP/IP agent supporting up to 247 slaves on the serial gateway, with Modbus RTU/ASCII frame support.
