The Lantronix NTC-502 is the international variant of the NTC-500 Series 5G industrial IoT router, built for EMEA and APAC networks excluding Japan and China, including Telstra. It supports 3GPP Release 16 5G in SA and NSA modes with dynamic slicing, 4G LTE failover and n77/n78 for private networks. The router has a 2.5 Gbps LAN port and four SMA antenna ports in a rugged IP41 metal enclosure. It is not the North American model; the NTC-501 serves US networks.
The Lantronix NTC-502 (part number NTC-502-01-01) is the international model of the NTC-500 Series, a rugged 5G router for Ethernet-based industrial, transportation and smart-city applications. Lantronix designates it for EMEA and APAC excluding Japan and China, with Telstra named for Australia. It carries CE, UKCA and RCM certification. Its 5G NR bands are n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n40, n41, n75, n76, n77 and n78. Its LTE bands are B1, B3, B5, B7, B8, B20, B28, B32, B38, B40, B41, B42 and B43. This band plan is aimed at networks outside North America. US deployments should use the NTC-501.
The router is built on 3GPP Release 16 and supports eMBB and uRLLC. It runs in SA and NSA modes with failover to 4G. Theoretical peak speeds are 2.4 Gbps down / 900 Mbps up on 5G SA, 2.5 Gbps / 550 Mbps on 5G NSA and 1.6 Gbps / 200 Mbps on LTE Cat 19/18. 5G Dynamic Slicing, cell lock, up to 6 APNs and up to 8 bearers and traffic classes allow precise QoS. Support for n77/n78 suits private 5G networks in industrial, mining and construction settings.
A 2.5 Gbps LAN port carries multi-gigabit cellular throughput to downstream equipment. Four SMA connectors accept external antennas. Routing features include VRRP failover, VLANs and an IPS firewall. VPN options are IPSec (up to 5 tunnels), GRE and OpenVPN.
You can manage the router through HTTPS web UI, SSH, SNMP v3, TR-069, LWM2M and SMS. MQTT reporting to Azure and AWS, Cumulocity support and Percepxion readiness cover cloud and fleet management. The metal enclosure measures 143.5 x 110.5 x 30 mm and weighs 445 g. It runs on 8-40V DC and mounts on a wall or on a DIN rail using the included bracket. Lantronix specifies a 2-year warranty.
The NTC-502 is Lantronix's model for EMEA and APAC excluding Japan and China, with CE, UKCA and RCM certification. Its band set lacks key US bands such as n66, n71 and B12. The NTC-501 is the North American model.
5G NR n1, n3, n5, n7, n8, n20, n28, n38, n40, n41, n75, n76, n77 and n78, and 4G LTE B1, B3, B5, B7, B8, B20, B28, B32, B38, B40, B41, B42 and B43.
Lantronix lists Telstra for the NTC-502, and the router carries RCM certification.
Yes. It supports Release 16 Standalone operation and bands n77/n78, which Lantronix highlights for private networks in industrial, mining and construction settings.
